Mei Wah Beer Room
Established in 2017
Mei Wah Beer Room, located in the heart of Isleton's historic Asian corridor, is a unique craft beer tasting room offering 24 rotating taps featuring mostly local craft beers, kombucha, and draft nitro coffee. Our welcoming space is open to families and pets, providing a relaxed atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.
The Mei Wah Building, originally constructed in the late 1870s, served as a Chinese gambling hall, brothel, and opium den, playing a significant role in the social life of historic downtown Isleton. Today, Mei Wah Beer Room honors this rich past, featuring an antique opium bed repurposed as seating and an entryway adorned with vintage photos of Isleton, opium dens, and beer drinkers from the 1800s. Our distinctive 24-tap draft tower, made of cast iron, sits atop a Chinese altar from the 1800s, while our retro diner counter was originally built for the 1992 film Basic Instinct starring Sharon Stone and Michael Douglas. "Mei Wah" can mean "beautiful place," and we invite you to discover just that with us!
